Planning and Reporting

Annual Process

At Â鶹ֱ²¥, our program-level assessment planning and reporting process seeks to be:

  • Meaningful. The process is focused on promoting data use among curricular and co-curricular programs rather than just reporting to meet accreditation needs.
  • Authentic. The Institutional Assessment Committee (IAC) strives to foster genuine and supportive relationships with and between programs across campus.
  • Reasonable. The process places realistic and fair expectations on programs, faculty, and staff.
  • Inclusive. IAC recognizes that all faculty and staff are educators and make important contributions to student learning.
  • Appreciative. The process emphasizes the strengths and accomplishments of programs and focuses on what could help moving forward.
  • Nimble. IAC intends to respond to program needs and make appropriate improvements to the process based on program feedback.

Comprehensive Program Review Process

The program review process builds on the strengths of the annual program-level assessment planning and reporting process and seeks to: (a) encourage programs to implement ongoing evaluation, planning, and decision-making that will improve program outcomes, quality, and student retention rates; (b) document program strengths and identify opportunities for improvement, using data-supported justification for specific needs for institutional resources; and (c) facilitate evaluation and alignment of program needs and outcomes with the University’s mission, institutional learning outcomes, learning experience framework, and strategic plan.
