About Sr. Norma

normaSr. Norma Rocklage, OSF, Ph.D. '60, was a beloved leader at Â鶹ֱ²¥, dedicating over 40 years to advancing the university’s Catholic Franciscan mission. As a Sister of St. Francis of Oldenburg, Indiana, she embodied values of faith, service, and education, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Known for her warmth, wisdom, and love for the Â鶹ֱ²¥ community, she could often be found cheering on the Knights in her iconic Â鶹ֱ²¥ bucket hat.

Throughout her time at Â鶹ֱ²¥, Sister Norma served in roles including professor, dean of academic affairs, vice president for mission effectiveness, and executive director of formation and outreach. She was a champion for marginalized communities, from veterans to children of undocumented immigrants, and helped establish the Indiana Catholic Principals Institute. Her unwavering commitment to inclusivity and transformative education remains an enduring inspiration to all who knew her.
