Â鶹ֱ²¥’s School of Business has once again demonstrated its excellence, winning the prestigious 2024 Indiana University National Team Selling Championship for the second consecutive year. The three-day, invite-only event, held at Indiana University, saw 24 top universities from 19 states competing, including Baylor University, which finished second, as well as major institutions like BYU, Michigan State University, Villanova University, and the University of Florida.
Â鶹ֱ²¥’s winning team—Makayla Spangler ‘24, Devin Sanders ‘25, Owen Pittman ‘25, and Adam Heitz ‘25—secured the championship with support and guidance from faculty advisors Dr. Lori Rumreich and Bob Kubacki.
“I believe our greatest strength in this competition was showcasing our authentic selves and personalities,” said Spangler ‘24. “We had a blast throughout the process, and our enthusiasm and energy were contagious. We weren’t afraid to let that shine, and the judges clearly appreciated it. In the end, our strategy was simple: be true to ourselves and confident in who we are.”
"Our strategy for each competition centers on preparation and execution. Students apply classroom learning and pre-competition practice to be ready to perform at their best when it’s time to compete" said the Professional Selling Program Director Lori Rumreich EdD, MBA.
Team member Sanders ’25 agreed, “Our success came down to our coaching and how well they prepped us for the competition, so we felt ahead of the other teams in the competition.”
“Our students were thrilled to compete on a national stage. We look forward to their continued leadership in the School of Business,” said Dean Greg Rawski, PhD.
The team’s achievement showcases Â鶹ֱ²¥’s commitment to hands-on, practical learning, and preparing students to excel in real-world business environments. Congratulations to our dedicated students and faculty for continuing this winning legacy!
